Urinary frequency

What is urinary frequency?

A normal bladder holds 400-500mls of urine and is emptied up to 8 times per day, depending on the amount of fluid taken on that day.

Urinary frequency is when the bladder is emptied more than 8 times a day and with volumes of less than 400mls.

What causes urinary frequency?

It is often associated with an overactive bladder and may be associated with other symptoms such as urgency or stress incontinence.

What treatment is recommended for urinary frequency?

Several treatments are available once the correct diagnosis has been made through a Urodynamic Study.
